The Calatrava line arrived in 1932 and is the origin point of Patek Philippe watchmaking; its round case and plain dial later became the template for the dress watch. The 5153J-001 launched in 2009 and went out of production around 2019 to 2020. What identifies it is the dial: hand-engraved at the centre, showing different depths as the light moves. The officer’s case has a hinged back that swings open — neither feature is common within the Calatrava.
The reference has left the current catalogue and has no list price today; its list price before discontinuation was CNY 243,400 (xbiao.com, checked September 2026). Dress and sports references differ considerably in secondary structure, and dress pieces usually sell below sports references of the same period.
