The LuxPik Authentication — Instruments and a Standard Procedure
The LuxPik offers authentication either online or on the physical piece. Since 2016 the group has run its own authentication framework, which turns judgements about authenticity and condition into a documented, traceable standard covering handbags, watches, fine jewellery, and apparel and footwear.
Two ways to have a piece examined
Online
Photograph the piece to our brief and upload the images with a request. The system assigns an appraiser, who carries out a first review and will come back to you if anything is missing. A senior appraiser then reviews and confirms the result.
In person
Send the piece to The LuxPik. Our appraisers examine it with precision instruments and a documented method — typeface, letterform, spacing and proportion specific to the house, metal content, smell, hand-feel — three appraisers cross-check, and the result is issued.
What backs the work
Documented credentials only. The full record is on the compliance page.
In-house authentication framework
Developed by the group from 2016. Authenticity checks and condition grading are written up as an executable standard, so the same piece is described the same way wherever it is examined.
Trade body assessment
Assessed in 2023 against an industry capability standard for second-hand goods appraisal bodies, covering handbags, watches, fine jewellery, and apparel and footwear.
Research
Since 2024 the company has been investing in image-based AI authentication, which now assists the online review. AI never issues a verdict on its own: every result we issue is cross-checked by three appraisers.
