Frequently asked questions

What percentage of retail does pre-owned luxury fetch?

There is no fixed percentage. The figure comes from five things — house, model, condition, completeness and the market at the time — and two examples of the same model can differ several times over on condition alone. Sheshouduo's online valuation is free, and with competitive bidding the price is formed by trade buyers bidding in real time.

Can I trust Sheshouduo with my piece?

Sheshouduo is a brand of The LuxPik Group, founded in 2014 and operating a boutique network across 30+ cities. Every offer on your piece is visible to you in writing, and payment is released the moment you accept one.

How is competitive buy-back different from an outright offer?

With competitive bidding, several trade buyers bid against each other, so the price is formed by a market and every offer is visible to you. An outright offer is normally one figure from one shop, with limited room to negotiate.

Can you collect, rather than me coming in?

Yes. There are three ways to sell: in-store, collection at your address, or by post. For higher-value pieces you can book an appraiser to come to you and complete the inspection in person.

How is the valuation actually built up?

House, model, condition, accessories and market, each assessed as a separate line. The appraiser records and photographs each one during inspection, so the offer shows what every deduction is based on.

How soon do I get paid?

With competitive buy-back, payment is released as soon as you accept an offer. With consignment, settlement follows the auction sale on the agreed terms.

Which brands do you buy?

The major houses across all five categories — handbags, watches, fine jewellery, apparel and footwear, diamonds and gold. The houses we see most often are listed on each category page, and anything not listed can still be valued.
