On 19 December 2024 the "2024 Second-hand Economy High-quality Innovation Development Conference" was held in Shenzhen under the theme "policy-led, innovation-driven". China National Radio reported on the event. The LuxPik (Sheshouduo) was one of the conference's co-organisers.
Who Convened It
According to the report, the conference was jointly hosted by the China Used Goods Association and the China Electronics Chamber of Commerce, with Zhuanzhuan as sole supporting partner. Co-organisers spanned second-hand electronics, pre-owned luxury, used office equipment, used furniture and used musical instruments. Academic partners included several universities and research bodies, along with an industrial-product testing centre.

Three Points from the Report
- A pilot policy announced alongside — the report notes that during the conference the general offices of five ministries, the Ministry of Commerce among them, issued a notice on organising pilot work for second-hand goods circulation (Shang Ban Liu Tong Han [2024] No. 474). Chang Dalei, executive vice-chair of the China Used Goods Association, gave an on-site briefing on the policy, stressing that pilots would be tailored to local conditions.
- Standards and recognition — a "2024 Green Sharing and Circular Use Contribution Award" was presented, together with "front-runner" certificates for enterprise standards in second-hand goods circulation, and the list of companies that took part in drafting national standards was announced.
- Topics covered — speakers addressed compliance in online second-hand trading, strategies for taking second-hand goods to overseas markets, adding second-hand goods recycling to the national industrial classification, and raising authentication capability across the trade.

Where We Come In
