The figure on this page is what this particular transaction settled at. It reflects the house, the model, the condition, how complete the accessories were and the market at the time, and is not a quoted price for a comparable piece.

The client

Ms Luo, in Zhengzhou, brought in a Chanel 22 Mini in black calf. The wear on the body was very light, the original chain and purchase receipt were both still with it, the box was not. Two things were on her mind: whether an incomplete set of accessories would drag the offer down, and whether black really is steadier than other colours.

The model and the market

The 22 line launched in 2022 in soft oil-waxed calf, closing with a drawstring, with metal "CHANEL Paris" lettering and an openwork double-C coin on the front. Within the line, the Mini holds value best. Black is a base neutral with the widest pool of buyers; between two of the same reference in different colours, the offers can land in the same band or sit more than ten percentage points apart.

What a bag is worth depends on how it is broken down. Model and house draw the range first, condition and how complete the accessories are are each costed, and the market at the time fixes the landing point; differences within one reference come from size, leather, body colour and hardware pairing.

How this price was set

Ms Luo’s bag came in at CNY 19,000, resting on two things: the Mini is where demand concentrates in the 22 line, and black has the widest pool of buyers. This one graded A, with the body and drawstring in good order. The mark down was on accessories — the original chain and receipt were both there and only the box was missing, so the deduction is small.

The price came out of bidding. After inspection the bag entered the platform, trade buyers across the country bid side by side, and the client picked one from the offer sheet. The 22 also runs through handbag buy-back, and the retail ticket and the pre-owned figure are not the same thing. (Market figures reflect publicly available data.)

What we did

  • Competitive buy-back

The bag goes onto the bidding platform and trade buyers post live offers within ten minutes. The number comes from the market, not from one shop

  • Handbag authentication

An appraiser team of more than a hundred. Every item is signed off by three of them, and each check is recorded line by line and photographed

  • Credentials

Named in 2025 to the first cohort of pre-owned goods circulation pilot enterprises by MOFCOM, the NDRC, the Ministry of Natural Resources and SAMR; in 2019 Vintage-Privée entered a three-way strategic partnership with CCIC (China Certification & Inspection Group) and Alibaba.

  • Settlement

Payment goes out on the spot once you accept an offer. Nothing is charged if you walk away

Questions about this case

What did this 22 Mini in Zhengzhou finally sell for?

Size, colour, condition and accessories are each checked before the number is set. This Grade A black one in Zhengzhou, August 2026, sold for CNY 19,000.

Does keeping a full set of accessories raise the offer?

The original chain and the receipt are credits; the box adds relatively little. A complete set puts the offer in the upper part of the band, but it has no bearing on whether we can take the bag.
